Yep. I'm here.

Been quite a long time but I'm back.

I'm still the experimental photographer in every sense of the word. Though I have found my own path behind the camera while I've been away. High-key B&W is where my heart is. I enjoy it. The burned out and blown out appeal to my eye for some reason. I enjoy attempting to uncover new ways to create within those boundaries. We shall see.

Hello to all still here. Sorry I've been away so long.

New content coming

Tue Dec 6, 2005, 7:00 AM

...to Visual Mind Studio

I have made plenty of adjustments to my site and I have sort of decided to go in a bit of a different direction after learning about several possibilities. My goal is to make it a place that not only presents my work but also dives into the realm of all things visual. Be it photography, digital art, painting, or design, I'm going to be presenting plenty articles of interest. I'll be exploring the consumer's options in photography equipment, hosting interviews with other artists and photographers, host guest written articles, writing articles on whats happening in the digital community, personal methods and approaches to my work, ideologies and philosophies of visual communication ethic, resource recommendations, and loads of beautiful eye candy from some of the best in the industry. Expect loads of content in the coming days with tons of great perspective on all things photography and art. ;)

Bookmark it. I guarentee there will be information there you'll want to know. Drop a comment on the articles that interest you or even drop by my gallery for a browse. ;)

Rest assured my plans are big and they are all slowly falling into place.

Hope to see you there.

Now it's finished.

I've been unhappy with it the last 2 days. But I think it's exactly how it needs to be now. ;)

Finally...

It's where I want it.

My site is up and at it. Thanks to WordPress I am now able to blog through the site as well. In reality I have a lot to say about the ideologies, philosophies, and methods of creating and I plan to share through the medium of the blog in the coming days, weeks, and months. I'll talk about my photographic adventures, places I've gone to shoot, my ideas about capture, and studies and influences in the genre that have grabbed my attention.

There will be a link section entitled Influences and another devoted to Resources that have helped me along the way. I hope someone will find the information therein informative and creative all at the same time.

There are still a few minor tweaks to be done, including some layout issues with internet explorer and the gallery itself. I hope to have those resolved this week or next. For the moment though I'm found of the coherent nature of the layout and I look forward to using all the new features I've found. ;)

A Lil' Change of Plans

Mon Nov 28, 2005, 5:15 AM

A Change of Plans, You Say?

Why yes. I do say.

My plight was simple... I wasn't too excited about the happenings at the top of the stairs around here. Namely DevMobile and the Jark issue.

My answer to that plight was to pull my work because I felt I should. No third party input just my own decision.

Over the course of the few months I've been gone I've wanted to keep contact with my friends here. I've wanted to share my thoughts on their work and do my part to cultivate the creative masses that make up Deviant Art. In noticing those feelings... my plight became more problematic... The ever perpetual print account lingered in the back of my mind and I know that as my skill progressed I'd need to place stuff here once again to put my money spent to use. Thus... I return in part.

My time may not be frequent but it will be present. I'll be submitting as I see an image worthy of print or just a shot I'd like to share. I don't sense a heavy concentration of my work coming here. For a larger growing collection you can check out my website which is growing by leaps and bounds as I get pieces of it together. [link]

So with that said and done expect a familiar face to pop up from time to time when you least expect it.

What Am I?

My style and ideology seems to change constantly. I've learned plenty since I left and I learn every time I pick up a camera. My goals right now consist of several projects I'm undertaking. Namely a few series of shots and a constant reshooting of one landmark here in Nashville, The Parthenon.

The series consist of about five different subjects. Treelines, gravestones, close up portraits, random circles, and photojournalistic scenery shots. I won't bother with the minute details of each but they all will serve to help my better grasp my ability and utilize it to it's full potential. Some shots may never see the light of the internet, but I will have learned from each nonetheless.

My idea in in shooting the Parthenon as a subject came from my desire to watch light and shadow more. I plan to shoot this building as much as I can. I want to find the perfect angle that accentuates mood, texture, history, compostion, color and design. From time to time I'm sure I'll get a shot I feel works all of those but I'm also sure that from time to time that shot will change as I advance.

I'm learning a lot about my style and what it is. I'm learning to envision the full spectrum of this medium and I learning to be patient. My time will come when it is supposed to come.

For now my friends. ;)
